FAQ
You have questions,
we have answers.
Padua is a coaching service, not another app to maintain. These are the questions households often ask us before they start.
No, not yet. We plan to release one in the near future, but Padua is not a budgeting app today.
It is a service in which a financial coach does the hard work of budgeting for you, tracks your spending, and meets with you so you can understand your spending and stay accountable to your savings goals.
We understand that concern. Our commitment is that you save a multiple of what you pay us.
Budgeting and discipline are things you can handle yourself. If you have tried and it has not held, extra help may be what is missing. If you are tired of spinning your wheels and still skeptical, ask about a first month that lets us prove the value. You can discontinue after that month if it has not helped.
Templates, apps, and courses require time, energy, and consistency from you to categorize every transaction and keep the budget accurate.
Padua does that work for you, and offers optional coaching sessions you can use when you want a person walking the month with you.
It depends on your situation. If you already maintain a budget, save well, and stay consistent, we are probably not the right fit.
If you struggle to save, do not have a budget, live paycheck to paycheck, or are not sure where the money is going, we may be. Early findings are that we are often able to help clients save 10%–25%. Reach out to see whether the program fits, and ask about a first month to start.
No. Padua focuses on budgeting and cash flow. We do not provide insurance or investments, and we do not advise on either.
Keep that relationship. Most advisors focus on investments and retirement, and are compensated by selling a product or by assets under management.
Padua works where most advisors do not: budgeting, debt reduction, and leaving paycheck-to-paycheck living. We complement advisors. If someone needs retirement or investment advice, we refer out.
Padua is paid only by clients, for the budgeting concierge work and for financial coaching. There is no product sale attached to the relationship.
Clients connect bank accounts through Plaid, which gives counselors read-only access to transactions.
Padua does not store bank login credentials and does not have access to accounts beyond that read-only transaction data.
Protecting your financial information is a priority we build around, not an afterthought. Here’s specifically how your data is handled:
Your bank login is never shared with us. When you connect an account you log in through Plaid, a trusted service used by thousands of financial apps. Padua never sees, receives, or stores your banking username or password.
The connection is read-only. Padua can view your transaction history to categorize and organize it. We cannot move, transfer, or withdraw money from your accounts. The connection simply does not permit it.
Your information is encrypted. Your data is encrypted both while it travels and while it is stored, and the keys that access your bank connection receive an additional layer of encryption on top of that.
Only you see your data. Each client can access only their own information. Your reports are prepared by your counselor and shared only with you. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for anyone’s marketing.
We collect only what we need. We do not ask for your Social Security number, your date of birth, or your full account numbers.
Access is tightly controlled. Accounts that handle client data are protected by multi-factor authentication, and access is limited to what each role requires.
As Padua grows, we remain committed to strengthening our security practices, including independent professional review.
